About Twisted L Horsemanship

Based now in Winchester, KY, Twisted L Horsemanship had humble beginnings in 2010 in central North Carolina.  For 15 years, Dustin and Jessie Lunsford offered lessons and clinics, facilitated a large 4-H program, and maintained a 30+ horse boarding, breeding, and training facility, proudly standing our lovely AQHA stallion Drawlin.  

 

Under the Lunsford's astute training and coaching, youth and adult riders have competed successfully in local, state, regional, and national ranch versatility shows with their own horses and with Twisted L home-bred stock.  Though our performance horse program and success in the show arena were, and still are dear to our heart, as that chapter slowly closes, we now feel primarily lead to invest our focus on spreading our passion of good non-discipline specific horsemanship to a broader range of horses and their owners. 

 

Our program is Faith Based, we believe that our spiritual walk with God and that of our relationship with our horses go hand in hand and that they can grow together simultaneously. 

With the move to Kentucky in the summer of 2024, Twisted L is continually expanding our service to larger audiences by offering an online curriculum and community, "Master Horseman Online", in addition to lessons, clinics, and "Faith & Horsemanship" retreats.  As priorly mentioned, our areas of expertise include groundwork, colt starting, problem-solving, confidence building, cattle work, and training/coaching for ranch versatility events.  We use a blend of traditional and new-age training techniques that can be applied to all disciplines and brings focus to regulation of the horse's nervous system so they can confidently and willingly learn.
